AbstractAbstract
[en] Steel-Concrete-Steel (SCS) structures are sandwich composite structures combining steel plates and a concrete core through a connection system. Their high strength, stiffness, durability, sustainability and modularity make them an increasingly competitive choice of structure for the construction of high-rise buildings, submerged tunnels or even in the nuclear field. To enable their use and to better understand, characterize and predict their behavior, numerical studies are conducted. This work presents a refine methodology to modelling SCS structures. The developed strategy allows, among other, to finely reproduce the response of the concrete around the connectors, an area in which this material is exposed to significant localized compression and shear stresses, as well as the shear behavior of the connectors, one of the phenomena at the origin of the failure of the connection system. Applied first to a push-out test, then to SCS beams in bending, these modelling allow to observe the variations of behavior that can be seen between full and partial composite action SCS structures. Based on this refine modelling, a simplified modelling strategy is also developed and applied to the study of SCS structural connection. This study allows to analyze the response and to identify the weak points of this type of complex structure. (author)
