AbstractAbstract
[en] The results of the ''Round Robin'' experiment are presented in this report. This experiment was carried out by the lA, KFA, HTMP, GA and GE laboratories as a comparative corrosion test. Standardised casts of DIN 2.4663 (Inconel 617) and Hastelloy X were exposed in the HTMP VIP rig at 950°C for times up to 1000 h in a gas containing 1/45/20/500 pats of H2O/CO/CH4/H2. Both alloys formed thin adherent surface oxide scales. DIN 2.4663 showed internal oxidation which could not be found in Hastelloy X, whilst evaporative losses of Mn are suspected in the latter alloy. Carbon changes for both materials were between 0 and + 0.012 wt.%. The results agree extremely well with previous findings in similar atmospheres. (author)
