AbstractAbstract
[en] The method of measuring high temperatures by the determination of the velocity of sound waves is applicable in certain cases. It is not possible to read a point temperature, the mean temperature over the length of the probe will be measured. A further limitation is that if the nickel tube has to be exposed to heat, this temperature must not be greater than its curie point, or polarisation will be lost.
