AbstractAbstract
[en] A radioimmunoassay was developed for the determination of carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) in the serum of patients suspected of having neoplasms. It is a difficult assay re quiring great care with extreme quality control. The test can be used in confirmation of a suspected carcinoma, for differentiation between malignant and benign growths, and between malignant diseases and inflammatory conditions. The test can also be used to monitor therapy. (U.S.)
