[en] The mean lifetime of the 3.830-MeV state of 41Ca was determined from the delayed coincidence measurements between neutrons and γ rays from the 28Si(16O, 2pnγ)41Ca reaction at 40-MeV incident energy using the direct timing method. The value of 4.16 plus-or-minus 0.20 nsec obtained is smaller but consistent with the ''plunger'' values previously reported
