AbstractAbstract
[en] The radio galaxies 3C 382, 3C 390.3 and 3C 445 have very broad Balmer emission lines, with irregular profiles that are probably due to massive motions in the ionized gas. Detailed spectrophotometric results for 3C 390.3 show that its forbidden-line spectrum is similar to that of Cyg A, except that the mean density is higher in 3C 390.3. The density is much higher (N/sube/approximately-greater-than108.5 cm-3) in the broad Balmer-line region. Approximately one-fourth of the emission-line radio galaxies observed to date in our program have broad Balmer lines. The phenomenon is probably similar to that in Class 1 Seyfert galaxies, but more intensive in the radio galaxies
