AbstractAbstract
[en] A technique is described for the evaluation of the cerebral blood flow in vascular diseases of the brain. Results have been correlated with the clinical evaluation of the patients and/or confirmed by other conventional means. There is evidence that in many cases this technique has proven itself to be a useful tool in making the correct diagnosis. Because it uses the intravenous route, it is well-tolerated by the patients and can be performed on an out-patient basis. We believe this can become a screening procedure for detecting and evaluating cerebral vascular insufficiency. Finally we wish to emphasize the importance of performing a cervical flow study routinely at the same time as the hemispheric flow. (U.S.)
