AbstractAbstract
[en] A detailed study into the spectral and temperature characteristics of self-luminescence of vanadium garnets (M1Ca2)(M22)(V3)O12, where M1 and M2 are metals of the 1st and 2nd groups of the periodic system, has been made. Activation of garnets with Ln3+ ions results in quenching of their self-luminescence. At a temperature of 80 deg K, in the case of some Ln3+ ions, deep valleys are observed along with peaks against the background of self-luminescence. A temperature rise up to 420-480 deg K results in the valleys becoming shallower, which is probably due to the interaction between VO43-- and Ln3+-centers
