AbstractAbstract
[en] An investigation into the dependence of a Picker Dynacamera 2C γ-camera uniformity as a function of energy and count-rate is reported. It was found that the dependence on the count-rate is minimal but the uniformity is very sensitive to the window setting around the peak. If the window is centered symmetrically around the photo-peak the energy dependence is much less allowing different isotopes to be used for checking the uniformity of the γ-camera. The present results do not support those of Hannan and Bessent (Brit. J. Radiol.; 47:820 (1974)) but are more in agreement with those of Jansson and Parker (Brit. J. Radiol.; 48:408 (1975)) although no dependence on count-rate was found. In all three experiments different γcameras were used leading to the conclusion that no general results can be obtained from the available data and every centre has to check the factors affecting uniformity on its own camera.
