[en] The lecture gives data on the history of neutron star discovery and discussed properties of the matter composing neutron stars: outer zone where matter is an ordinary plasma, zone of variable nuclear composition where nuclei form crystalline lattice with the density 109 - 5x1013 g/cm3, zone of neutron matter which can be either liquid or solid, and finally the hyperon nucleus with density considerably higher than nuclear density
