[en] The dependence of mechanical properties of binary silicate and borate glasses on their structural-physical state was studied. A distinct correlation of glass mechanical properties with the glass structural parameters has been determined basing on studies of the ultrasound penetration rate, compressibility, elasticity, microhardness, and brittle strength of high-strength binary silicate and borate glasses under conditions excluding the effect of polyvalent modyfying cations
