AbstractAbstract
[en] Raman and infrared spectra of 1,10-dicarbaclosodecaborane and its C-dideuteranaloge in various aggregative states have been obtained. It has been proposed to assign frequencies on the basis of the oscillation activity in the Raman and infrared spectra, the degree of depolarization of the Raman lines and the band contours in the infrared spectra of gases. The oscillations associated with B-H for similarly structured carboranes p-B10H10C2H2 and p-B8H8C2H2 have almost similar frequencies, while the oscillations associated with C-H are dissimilar, which is most probably due to the dissimilar coordination of carbon atoms in these compounds. As can be inferred from the infrared spectra, 1,10-dicarbaclosodecaborane forms an H-bond with DMSO
