AbstractAbstract
[en] Optimum parameters of the submerged-arc butt welding have been determined. The welds have been subjected to the metallographic investigation and strength tests. It is found that the quality of the welds made with the use of the submerged arc is not inferior to the conventional welds. The submerged-arc pulse welding method features great efficiency and does not require strict observation of the welding conditions and accuracy of assembly. The depth of the weld during submerged-arc welding does not practically depend on the thickness of the welded metal and amounts to 0.4 mm (approximately) for steel Kh18N10T
