AbstractAbstract
[en] The potential radiological hazards involved in the technique of radioimmunoassay, including the possibility of laboratory contamination leading to thyroid contamination of personnel during the radioiodination of proteins with 125I is discussed. A safety cabinet suitable for carrying out such work is described. Air sampling and thyroid monitoring are recommended as routine safety precautions in order to check that handling techniques are satisfactory. (author)
