AbstractAbstract
[en] A measurement was made of the absolute angular distributions of the 35Cl(n,d)34S ground state and 34S*(2.127 MeV), the 37Cl(n,d)36S ground state, and the 36Ar(n,d)35Cl ground state and unresolved 35Cl* (1.219 and 1.763 MeV) reactions induced by 14.1 MeV neutrons. Isotopically enriched chlorine targets were used to avoid the overlapping of deuteron groups which occurred in earlier (n,d) experiments with natural chlorine targets. The results for the 36Ar (n,d) reaction are reported for the first time. A new low-background counter telescope was used which measures the flight time of the reaction products thus providing a means to reject unwanted background events. Spectroscopic factors were extracted from the data using DWBA analysis and were compared to previous (n,d) and (d,3He) experimental determinations and to theoretical calculations. In most cases the agreement was found to be good
