AbstractAbstract
[en] Apparatus is described for calcining compounds of uranium compounds to temperatures of up to about 10000C to produce UO2 powders of uniform quality and having an oxygen content of less than 2.2 atoms of oxygen per atom of uranium. The apparatus comprises discharge and cooling means having an inlet end operatively joined with an air tight seal to a rotating Kiln to receive hot UO2 powder therefrom without contact with air.
