AbstractAbstract
[en] The invention relates to an electron-beam device for irradiating spherical targets carrying a hydrogen isotope. This device comprises hollow cathodes directed towards each other, a device for injecting an anodic plasma along a plane between the cathodes, and a device for generating pulses of about 1 mega-joule, between said plasma and the cathodes, every tenth microsecond. Targets are repeatedly positioned in the anodic plasma between the cathodes, and the arrangement of the accelerating diodes allows neighboring materials to withstand the repeated operation, as is necessary in a fusion energy source. This can be applied to thermonuclear fusion power stations
