[en] An electron temperature estimate based on the absolute B Hα/B[N II] ratio is established over this part of the IC 1318 b, c complex for which the absorption of light by dust is demonstrably low. This estimate gives an electron temperature of 6900 K +- 1200 K. Contour maps showing the overall distribution of the electron temperature Tsub(e) for constant f(=N(N+)/N(N)) and the overall distribution of f for constant Tsub(e) are also produced. The limitations of the method and the validity of the results are also discussed. (Auth.)
