AbstractAbstract
[en] We derive and solve exactly the Boltzmann equation describing orbital relaxation processes in the A phase of superfluid 3He close to the transition temperature, T/subc/. Our results for the orbital friction coefficient agree with the relaxation-time approximation calculations of Cross and Anderson if the characteristic relaxation time they introduce is identified with the relaxation time of a normal-state quasiparticle at the Fermi energy at T/subc/. The recent orbital relaxation measurements of Paulson, Krusius, and Wheatly are in good agreement with the calculations
