AbstractAbstract
[en] Two acoustic techniques which have applications to reactor safety studies are described here. Both techniques are adaptations of the pulse-echo ultrasonic method. The first technique uses acoustic waves to measure temperature. It will be used to monitor the temperature of UO2 from 20000K to above the UO2 melting point (31300K). The second technique uses acoustic waves to measure erosion rates and its use is illustrated by monitoring the erosion of a concrete interface by a plasma jet
