AbstractAbstract
[en] A detailed description is given of certain aspects of correlation spectrometry using pulsed neutron sources to define the range and limits of its application. Problems of statistical accuracy and resolution of the correlation method are discussed. It is shown that for improving the statistical accuracy of measuring inelastic peaks one should remove the elastic component from a scattering spectrum and strictly control the number of revolutions a chopper. A new definition of resolution is given toqether with conditions for its optimization. It is proposed to define resolution as the ratio of the distance between elastic and inelastic peaks to the peak width
