AbstractAbstract
[en] The general theory of the rate of heat deposition by neutrons and photons in an arbitrary region of a nuclear reactor is considered. Four equivalent formulae for the total heat deposition rate are derived, and their relative advantages are compared. Finally, simple approximations are developed to one of these exact formulae that should be sufficiently accurate for use in a fuelled region of a reactor. (author)
