AbstractAbstract
[en] Measurement of environmental radioactivity in fields, i.e. in-situ γ spectrometry to determine the average concentration and spatial dose-rate of radioactive nuclides at measuring point in a short time is presently employed. The authors have carried out the in-situ γ spectrometry with a portable Ge(Li) detector system. Here, the results of γ spectrum analysis and their qualitative explanation are described, while the detailed analysis is not yet completed. Six research trips were made from the end of March to the end of November '76. The first trip was carried out to Ningyo Pass, Misasa hot spring, Tottori dune and Genbu cave. Of course, these places were selected because interest was felt for Ningyo Pass as an uranium ore mine and for Misasa as a radioactive spring. Next, the research was carried out at hot-springs along the Oito railroad line in Nagano Prefecture, Hiroshima City and Akiyoshi plateau (a lime cave), Noto peninsula, Mihama in Fukui Prefecture (the site of nuclear power plants of Kansai Electric Power Co., Inc.) and the peripheries of Kyoto University Reactor. The results of these measurements are reported in detail, showing γ spectra and discussing on the constructions around the sites, the rocks and earth of those places and the historical aspects of the environments.
