AbstractAbstract
[en] The parameters of the relativistic mean field (Hartree) approach are optimized by fitting the 208Pb charge density. A surprisingly good fit (χ2=2.80) is achieved. The model is then applied to the analysis of charge density distributions and charge density differences for some other closed-shell nuclei. (author) 3 tabs., 6 figs., 21 refs

AbstractAbstract
[en] The present state is discussed of relativistic theories describing nuclear matter. Main attention is concentrated on quantum hadrodynamics. Equations of motion are given for the scalar meson field, for the mass vector field and for the nucleon field. Attention is also paid to the relativistic optical model and its description of scattering problems. (Z.J.). 11 refs

AbstractAbstract
[en] The contribution of neutrons to the charge density of 208Pb, usually neglected, is investigated by means of the relativistic mean field approach. It is shown that at the centre of the nucleus the neutrons lower the charge density by about 1%. In addition, the modifications of the standard procedure are also shown which follow from the use of the Dirac equation to describe nuclear motion. (author). 12 refs

AbstractAbstract
[en] The results of the modern relativistic Dirac-Brueckner calculations of nuclear matter are parametrized in terms of the relativistic σ-ω mean-field theory with scalar and vector nonlinear selfinteractions. It is shown that the inclusion of the isoscalar vector-meson quartic selfinteraction is essential for obtaining a proper density dependence of the vector potential in the mean-field model. The obtained mean-field parameters represent a simple parametrization of effective interaction in nuclear matter. This interaction may be used in the mean-field studies of the structure of finite nuclei without the introduction of additional free parameters. (orig.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Neutron activation cross sections for Ti isotopes at 14.8 MeV were measured using Ge(Li) γ-ray spectroscopy. The linear least-squares method was used to resolve the interfering reactions of neighbouring isotopes. The results obtained are discussed in detail and are compared with pre-equilibrium, equilibrium and semi-empirical calculations. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Neutron activation cross sections for (n,2n), (n,p) and (n,α) reactions on Nd isotopes at 14.8 MeV were measured using Ge(Li) γ-ray spectroscopy. A total of fourteen experimental data points were obtained and three of them were measured for the first time. The whole experiment was controlled by computer using the CAMAC system. The time variation of the neutron flux and the coincidence summation effects were taken into account. The results obtained are discussed in detail and are compared with data by other authors. AbstractAbstract
[en] We test an applicability of Dirac optical model for neutron elastic scattering at low energies. Real parts of scalar and vector potentials are constrained by a relativistic mean field approach to nuclear structure. We find that by this way we are able to produce a good agreement with experimental data. (author). 16 refs, 8 figs, 3 tabs
