[en] The crystal structure of a new compound SmCo9Si4 was investigated by X-ray powder diffraction using the Rietveld method. [en] The study was designed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of 99mTc labelled human IgG as the tracer for detection of focal inflammatory lesion in abdomen. 61 patients with 20 documented cases of pelvicellulitis, 41 cases of inflammatory bowel diseases were studied. All their diagnosis were based upon clinical signs and various types of laboratory data and other imaging modalities. 370-740 MBq/mg of 99mTc-HIgG was injected intravenously. The whole body scan (Ant and Post views) were obtained 1, 2, 4, 6, 24 hours after injection, delayed imaging were repeated if necessary. Wherever abnormal areas, multiple spot views were added. 99mTc-HIgG was avidly taken up by acute pelvis inflammation lesions and performed less well in 2 chronic cases, so the positive rate was 90%. 21 out of the 22 ulcerative colitis were positive, the positive rate was 93%. 17 out of the 19 Crohn's were positive, the positive rate was 89%. All the negative cases were not active ones. With respect to the activity of the disease, the positive rate of 99mTc-HIgG scan in ulcerative colitis was 100% equal to that of endoscopy. In Crohn's disease the positive rate was 100%, while endoscopy and X-ray were 30% and 94% respectively. If both diseases were in their relief stage, the scans were normal. Thus 99mTc-HIgG is proved to be effective in detecting the focal site of inflammation in the abdomen. Providing clinically useful assessment of disease activity and patient's response to therapy, 99mTc-HIgG scintigraphy is safe, convenient with no side effects. [en] We study the relation between the N=2 gauge theory in the Ω background and the quantized integral system recently proposed by Nekrasov and Shatashvili. We focus on the simplest case, the pure Yang-Mills theory with the SU(2) gauge group and the corresponding sine-Gordon integral model on the complex plane. We analyze the periodic wave function and the corresponding energy spectrum of the sine-Gordon quantum mechanics, and find this model contains information of the low energy effective theory of the gauge theory.
[en] Objective: To investigate the effect of Panax notoginseng saponins (Pns) against cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury. Methods: Focal cerebral ischemia-reperal ischemia-reperfusion model in rat was established by occlusion the middle cerebral artery for 2 h, after 3 h reperfusion. The serum concentration of IL-8 was detected with radioimmunoassay (RIA). Results: Png 50 mg·kg-1 ip, qd x 7d before MCAO decreased the serum content of IL-8 after ischemia-reperfusion. [en] It is recently claimed by Nekrasov and Shatashvili that the N=2 gauge theories in the Ω background with ε1=(ℎ/2π), ε2=0 are related to the quantization of certain algebraic integrable systems. We study the special case of SU(2) pure gauge theory; the corresponding integrable model is the A1 Toda model, which reduces to the sine-Gordon quantum mechanics problem. The quantum effects can be expressed as the WKB series written analytically in terms of hypergeometric functions. We obtain the magnetic and dyonic expansions of the Nekrasov theory by studying the property of hypergeometric functions in the magnetic and dyonic regions on the moduli space. We also discuss the relation between the electric-magnetic duality of gauge theory and the action-action duality of the integrable system.
[en] Objective: To evaluate the efficacy of 99Tcm labelled human IgG (99Tcm-HIgG) as the tracer for early detection of bowel involvement and disease activity in Crohn disease and ulcerative colitis. Methods: The authors have studied 22 cases with known ulcerative colitis and 19 cases with diagnosed Crohn disease. Twenty-eight were men and 13 were women aged (35 +- 15) years. 370-740 MBq (1 mg) of 99Tcm-HIgG was injected intravenously. The whole-body scan (ANT and POST) were obtained after 1,2,4,6 h delays or 24 h if necessary. Whenever abnormal areas were found, multiple spot views were required. Results: Twenty-one out of 22 ulcerative colitis patients were found positive. The positive rate was 95%. Seventeen out of 19 Crohn disease patients were positive and the positive rate was 89%. All the negative cases were not with active disease. With respect to the activity of the disease, the positive rate of 99Tcm-HIgG scan in ulcerative colitis was 100% equal to the endoscopy. While in Crohn disease the positive rate with 99Tcm-HIgG, endoscopy and X-ray were 100, 30% and 94% respectively. In both diseases while it was in the remission stage, the scans were normal. Conclusions: 1) 99Tcm-HIgG is a sensitive and reliable method for detecting the presence and extent of inflammatory bowel disease. 2) It can provide clinically useful assessment of disease activity and the response to therapy. 3) It is safe, convenient and of no side effects
[en] Highlights: • Models of thermoelectric generator arrays in series and parallel under different heat flux were made. • Models of the thermoelectric generator arrays were experimentally verified. • The number of the thermoelectric generators in array for maximum output power was optimized. - Abstract: The study on thermoelectric generator combined with the solar concentrator has increased rapidly in recent years. However, the solar concentrator inevitably causes the uneven distribution of the heat flux, which would significantly impact the performance of the thermoelectric generator array. This work presented the models of thermoelectric generators in series connection and parallel connection. Furthermore, series of experiments were made to verify the rationality of the model. In addition, the discussion based on the model was conducted to optimize the output power. The results indicated that for the thermoelectric generator array with the large heat flux gradient, which may be more effective and efficient to obtain higher output power through giving up lower heat flux part, which also can reduce the number of the thermoelectric generator modules. This work can be as a hint for the optimization of the solar thermoelectric generator
