AbstractAbstract
[en] An accelerator driven sub-critical system (ADS) that utilizes spallation neutrons as an external neutron source to drive the sub-critical blanket system has inherent safety features. It is universally regarded as the most promising approach for the disposal of the long-lived nuclear wastes because of its hard and wide neutron spectra, and large flux. In addition to its ability to reduce significantly the lifetime and volume of nuclear waste, it also has the potential for nuclear fuel breeding and nuclear power generation, which could improve the utilization efficiency of nuclear fuel resource. In this paper we describe the basis principles, challenges and current status of ADS research worldwide. A brief review of the progress of China's ADS research program is then presented, followed by an overview of the outlook for future developments. (authors)

AbstractAbstract
[en] It introduces a circuit design of beam homogeneity measurement for heavy ion beam in the monitoring needs, which convert multichannel weak current from 10 pA to 100 nA of the output of parallel plate avalanche counter (PPAC) for large area with sensitive two-dimensional position to voltage signal from -2 V to -20 mV by current-voltage-converter (IVC) circuit which composed of T-feedback resistor networks, combined with data acquisition and processing system realized the beam homogeneity measurement in heavy ion tumor therapy of the Institute of Modern Physics. Experiments have shown that the circuit with speed and high precision. This circuit can be used for read-out of the beam for the Multiwire Proportional Chamber, Faraday Cup and other weak current sources. (authors)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The differential cross sections for elastic scattering products of 17F on 208Pb have been measured. The angular dispersion plots of ln(dσ/dθ) versus θ2 are obtained from the angular distribution of the elastic scattering differential cross sections. Systematical analysis on the angular dispersion for the available experimental data indicates that there is an angular dispersion turning angle at forward angular range within the grazing angle. This turning angle can be clarified as nuclear rainbow in classical deflection function. The exotic behaviour of the nuclear rainbow angle offers a new probe to investigate the halo and skin phenomena. (authors)

AbstractAbstract
[en] 20Ne was used as primary beam to bombard Be target to produce RIB 17Ne, which is a candidate of proton halo nuclei in theoretical prediction. The total reaction cross section of 17Ne on Si target was measured. No enhancement was observed compared with that of its neighbors. The calculation with modified Glauber model is consistent with the experimental results. No exotic structure of 17Ne is confirmed. (authors)
