AbstractAbstract
[en] This contribution presents preliminary results on the inclusive jet production in p(bar p) collisions at √s = 1.96 TeV. The measurements are carried out using the longitudinally invariant kT algorithm. The inclusive jet cross sections are measured as a function of the jet transverse momentum in five jet rapidity regions for jets in the ranges 54 < pTjet < 700 GeV/c and |yjet| < 2.1. The results are based on 1.0 fb-1 of data collected at CDF during the Run II of the Tevatron. They are in good agreement with next-to-leading order perturbative QCD predictions after including the non-perturbative corrections necessary to account for underlying event and hadronization effects

AbstractAbstract
[en] Recent results obtained by the CDF and D0 experiments at the Tevatron Run II are presented. A first part is dedicated to QCD physics where inclusive jet production, dijet azimuthal decorrelations and jet shapes measurements are reported. Electroweak physics is then discussed relating measurements of the W and Z bosons productions, of the forward-backward charge asymmetry in W production, of the W width and of the top quarks mass. The extensive Run II exploration program is finally approached reporting about searches for neutral supersymmetric Higgs bosons in multijet events and for sbottom quark from gluino decays

AbstractAbstract
[en] This contribution reports on preliminary measurements of the inclusive jet production cross section in p(bar p) collisions at √s = 1.96 TeV using data collected with CDF corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 385 pb-1. Two analyzes are presented: one uses the longitudinally invariant kT algorithm to reconstruct the jets, the other uses the midpoint algorithm. Both are limited to jets with rapidity in the range 0.1 < |yjet| < 0.7. The measured cross sections are in good agreement with next-to-leading order perturbative QCD predictions after including the non-perturbative corrections necessary to account for underlying event and hadronization effects

AbstractAbstract
[en] MOX fuel for LWR is subject to a number of key features which make it different from classical LWR-UO2 fuel. Such features are: The smallness of the fissile material lots (both feed and fabrication lots); the variability of the isotopic composition from lot to lot and in time (due mainly to the β decay of 241Pu); the typical solubility behaviour in nitric acid; the specific Zircaloy welding requirements in confined inert atmosphere and the limited rework possibilities; the necessity to recycle the fabrication scrap under well controlled conditions. These main outlines come in addition to the physical characteristics of plutonium (α, β, γ radiation, criticality, toxicity, pyrophoricity). The fabrication process developed at BELGONUCLEAIRE (BN) gives an answer to each of these challenges in a way that satisfies the security, quality and economics requirements. The experience accumulated during the last 15 years on the operation of the DEMOX plant will be illustrated with special emphasis on some points, still susceptible of improvements either from quality or economics point of view. Such questions concern a.o. the surplus of rods after each campaign, the recycling of fabrication scraps, the radioactive waste management. In a last part the human aspects with the personnel radiation burden and the specific training standards followed by BELGONUCLEAIRE are highlighted. (author). 3 refs, 10 figs

AbstractAbstract
[en] In a modern MOX Fuel Fabrication Plant, with a large throughput of nuclear materials, computerized real-time accountancy systems are applied. Following regulations and prescriptions imposed by the Inspectorates EURATOM-IAEA, the State and also by internal plant safety rules, the accountancy is kept in plutonium element, uranium element and 235U for enriched uranium. In practice, Safeguards Authorities are concerned with quantities of the element (Utot, Putot) and to some extent with its fissile content. Custom Authorities are for historical reasons, interested in fissile quantities (Ufiss, Pufiss) whereas owners wish to recover the energetic value of their material (Pu equivalent). Balancing the accountancy simultaneously in all these related but not proportional units is a new problem in a MOX-plant where pool accountancy is applied. This paper indicates possible ways to solve the balancing problem created by these different units used for expressing nuclear material quantities

AbstractAbstract
[en] The aim of this work is to allow the practical execution of the estimated calculation of the electronic devices reliability and to standardize the source and the approach of the calculations while giving a systematic character to their execution mode. The systematic character of the calculations allows a comparison of the reliability of different materials and a rapid control of the calculations validity; at last, it brings out the use conditions of all the components of a set. A reliability calculation made according to the method described here reveals: -components badly used -the relative influence on the reliability of the set, of a component or a components group taking into account of the number, of the characteristics and of the use of these ones. At last, the results of the calculation allows to organize the exploitation (availability) and the maintenance (staff, stock of components) of the materials. The failure rates given in this book are only relating to the components service-life and do not correspond to precocious failures. (authors)
