[en] Steel is a very versatile metallic material and widely used in modern life. Unfortunately, this material is prone to the phenomenon of corrosion and over time, can contribute to the failure of the product. In order to minimize this process, different types of coatings are used, due to their efficiency, economy and ease of application. The degradation of the film applied to steel by atmospheric agents is the result of the combination of various environmental factors, due to the highly destructive cyclic variations. The present work intends to determine the existence of significant statistical differences in the thickness distribution of coating in duplex systems (Fe/Zn/Paint), before and after conducting the humidity and temperature test with condensation in a constant atmosphere, from different tests carried out in the Stat graphics Centurion software. The influence of the preset conditions on the coating thickness before and after the test was demonstrated was demonstrated. These values were found in a suitable interval to guarantee the resistance to corrosion, not showing visible deterioration in the surface of the analyzed specimens.
[es]El acero es un material metálico muy versátil y ampliamente utilizado en la vida moderna. Desafortunadamente, este material está propenso al fenómeno de la corrosión y el pasar del tiempo, puede contribuir a la falla del producto. Para lograr minimizar este proceso se utilizan diferentes tipos de recubrimientos, debido a su eficacia, economía y facilidad de aplicación. La degradación de la película aplicada sobre el acero por los agentes atmosféricos es resultado de la combinación de diversos factores ambientales, debido a las variaciones cíclicas altamente destructivas. El presente trabajo pretende determinar la existencia de diferencias estadísticas significativas en las distribuciones del espesor de recubrimiento en sistemas dúplex (Fe/Zn/Pintura), antes y después de realizado el ensayo de humedad y temperatura con condensación en atmósfera constante, a partir de diferentes pruebas realizadas en el software Statgraphics Centurion. Se demostró la influencia de las condiciones prefijadas sobre el espesor de recubrimiento antes y después de realizado el ensayo. Dichos valores se encontraron en un intervalo adecuado para garantizar la resistencia a la corrosión, no evidenciándose deterioro visible en la superficie de las probetas analizadas.
[en] This work was developed in order to improve the current tools for energy planning. This makes possible to predict electricity and LPG consumption in a tourist facility with accuracy higher than 90% by using Artificial Neuronal Networks (ANN) as fitting and predictive models. Local climatology and occupational patterns were used as entering variables for the models. Parametric modeling was performed as starting conditions and then improved with ANN. Matlab tools were used for calculations. The average deviation when predicting electricity consumption was 0.6% with a standard deviation of 4%. For LPG consumption the average deviation was less than 1% with a standard deviation of 1.3%.
[en] By use of the Bacillus subtilis bacteriophage cloning vehicle Phi 105J23, B. subtilis chromosomal MboI fragments have been cloned that alleviate the pleiotropic effects of the recE4 mutation. The recombinant bacteriophages Phi 105Rec Phi1 (3.85-kilobase insert) and Phi 105Rec Phi4 (3.3-kilobase insert) both conferred on the recE4 strain YB1015 resistance to ethylmethane sulfonate, methylmethane sulfonate, mitomycin C, and UV irradiation comparable with the resistance observed in recE+ strains. While strain YB1015 (recE4) and its derivatives lysogenized with bacteriophage Phi105J23 were not transformed to prototrophy by B. subtilis chromosomal DNA, strain YB1015 lysogenized with either Phi 105Rec Phi 1 or Phi 105RecPhi 4 was susceptible to transformation with homologous B. subtilis chromosomal DNA. The heteroimmune prophages Phi 105 and SPO2 were essentially uninducible in strain YB1015. Significantly, both recombinant prophages Phi 105RecPhi 1 and Phi 105Rec Phi 4 were fully inducible and allowed the spontaneous and mitomycin C-dependent induction of a coresident SPO2 prophage in a recE4 host. The presence of the recombinant prophages also restored the ability of din genes to be induced in strains carrying the recE4 mutation. Finally, both recombinant bacteriophages elaborated a mitomycin C-inducible, 45-kilodalton protein that was immunoreactive with Escherichia coli recA+ gene product antibodies. Collectively, these data demonstrate that the recE+ gene has been cloned and that this gene elaborates the 45-kilodalton protein that is involved in SOB induction and homologous recombination

[en] The chloride mass balance (CMB) method was applied in the unsaturated zone to estimate potential recharge (Rt) rainfall in two small catchment of southern mid-to-high slope of Sierra de Gador carbonate aquifer (SE Spain) , in the average hydrological year 2003-04 and the unusually dry 2004-05. Unknown fractions of diffuse (RD) and concentrated recharge (Rc) into Rt were firstly evaluated to fit average and lower RT thresholds for modeling further long-term recharge. Daily rainfall and actual evapotranspiration (AET) from the Eddy Covariance (EC) technique provided yearly RT of 189 mm year-1 in 2003-04 and 8 mm year-1 in 2004-05.
