AbstractAbstract
[en] During the 80-ies of last century, Macedonia has been one of the world leaders in development of direct application of geothermal energy. During a period of only 6-7 years a participation of 0,7% in the State energy balance has been reached. However, situation has been changed during the last 20 years and the development of this energy resource has been not only stopped but some of the existing projects have been abandoned leading to regression. This situation is illogical, due the fact that it practically proved of being technically feasible and absolutely economically justified. A summary of the present situation with geothermal projects in Macedonia is made in the paper, and possibilities for their improvement and possibilities and justifications for development of new resources foreseen. Final conclusion is that the development of direct application of geothermal energy in Macedonia offer (in comparison with other renewable energy resources) the best energy and economic effects. AbstractAbstract
[en] In the worldwide practice, the geothermal energy application, as an alternative energy resource, can be of great importance. This is especially case in the countries where exceptional natural geothermal potential exists. Despite using geothermal energy for both greenhouses heating and balneology, the one can be successfully implemented in the heat requiring industrial processes. This kind of use always provides greater annual heat loading factor, since the industrial processes are not seasonal (or not the greater part of them). The quality of the geothermal resources that are available in Europe, dictates the use within the low-temperature range technological processes. However, these processes are significantly engaged in different groups of processing industries. But, beside this fact the industrial application of geothermal energy is at the beginning in the Europe. (Original)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Biomass has its importance as an energy source in very wide use, in (mainly) agricultural and less developed regions in the world, even at the pass to 21-st century. Unfortunately, it is in principle an uncontrolled use, escorted with low efficient burning technologies and negative impact to the human environment. The basic information and data for known technologies for treatment and use of effluent biomass materials of agricultural production are given in this paper. They don't consist the listed negative aspects of use for energy production. The eventual wider use can result with positive economical and ecological consequences, at least in the regions where they are on disposal. (Author)
