AbstractAbstract
[en] The computing codes used for the thermo-hydraulic aspects of the TRADE (TRiga Accelerator Driven Experiment) require the basic information of the temperature distribution across the core and its correlation with the thermal power produced by the core itself during the normal operation. Moreover the core codes used for the evaluation of the effects on the system following a changing in the reactor reactivity require the knowledge of the reactor responses to the system variation. With the aim to give a complete as possible answer to these requests, an acquisition system based on PC was realized. A series of records of the temperature distribution across the core in several steady states as well during reactivity transients was performed. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] In the Lande's statistical interpretation of quantum mechanics electron interference is explained by the mechanical theory of particle diffraction put forward by Duane in the early 1920s. The interference pattern should be due to a mechanical momentum exchange between electrons and the screen with the two slits. However in a recent version of the two-slit experiment realizer by an electron microscope the interference pattern is obtained with no mechanical interaction, upsetting therefore the Lande's model

AbstractAbstract
[en] The TRIGA RC-1 1 MW reactor operating at ENEA Casaccia Center is currently being developed as a second neutron imaging facility that shall be devoted to computed tomography as well as neutron tomography. In order to reduce the gamma-ray content in the neutron beam, the reactor tangential piercing channel was selected. A set of Monte Carlo simulation was used to design the neutron collimator, to determine the preliminary choice of the materials to be employed in the collimator design

AbstractAbstract
[en] The aspects of a radioprotection program to be implanted in hospitals to cases of medical treatment to external and internal contamined people are presented. It is based in the experience acquired in the coordination of radioprotection of the Marcilio Dias Naval Medical Center, Rio de Janeiro, due to accident happened in Goiania in 1987. The infra-structure necessary of a ward and the procedures of radioprotection to acess control, entrance and way out of material area and patients monitoring, decontamination and the activities in the support area such as the control and maintenance of detection equipments and radioactive waste management are described. The radiologic protection materials necessaries and the quantity of radioactive waste generated by patient for day are estimated. (V.R.B.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The role of computer simulation in the field of thin films diagnostic is discussed. It is shown, in particular, how Monte Carlo computer codes can be succesfully employed to achieve quantification of the various signals generated in electron specimen interaction. Representative examples, taken from literature as well as works by the author are presented to highlight the power and the versatility of computer simulation in situations where other approaches are known to fail

AbstractAbstract
[en] At the ENEA TRIGA research reactor (Casaccia Research Center, Rome), a new neutron collimator has been designed and installed at the neutron tangential channel. This collimator, that is part of a neutron/X-ray facility for NDT analysis, was experimentally characterized and optimized in terms of thermal neutron flux, its spatial/energetic distribution, photon air KERMA and effective beam diameter. This paper shows the methodologies and the results of the experimental analysis that was carried out. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The Monte Carlo technique has been applied to simulate the trajectories of ions implanted into an amorphous target. By this method much information about the spatial distribution of ions is obtained in a straightforward way: the results show a good agreement with the experiments available in current literature.
