[en] This thesis presents research focusing on the improvement of high-resolution global black carbon (BC) emission inventory and application in assessing the population exposure to ambient BC. A particular focus of the thesis is on the construction of a high-resolution (both spatial and sectorial) fuel consumption database, which is used to develop the emission inventory of black carbon. Above all, the author updates the global emission inventory of black carbon, a resource subsequently used to study the atmospheric transport of black carbon over Asia with the help of a high-resolution nested model. The thesis demonstrates that spatial bias in fuel consumption and BC emissions can be reduced by means of the sub-national disaggregation approach. Using the inventory and nested model, ambient BC concentrations can be better validated against observations. Lastly, it provides a complete uncertainty analysis of global black carbon emissions, and this uncertainty is taken into account in the atmospheric modeling, helping to better understand the role of black carbon in regional and global air pollution.
[en] Cross sections for (n, p), (n, α) and (n, 2n) reactions have been measured on palladium isotopes at 13.5-14.7 MeV using the activation technique. Data are reported for the following reactions: 102Pd(n, p)102mRh, 102Pd(n, p)102gRh, 105Pd(n, p)105Rh, 106Pd(n, p)106Rh; 106Pd(n, α)103Ru, 108Pd(n, α)105Ru; 102Pd(n, 2n)101Pd and 110Pd(n, 2n)109Pd
[en] In this study, the successful construction of a novel AgVO3/BiVO4 heterojunction photocatalyst via a facile two-step method was reported. The organic dye Rhodamine B (RhB) was chosen as a simulative pollutant to investigate the photocatalytic performances of the samples. The results showed that the AgVO3/BiVO4 heterojunction possessed remarkably enhanced photocatalytic activity under visible-light irradiation compared with individual components. The AgVO3/BiVO4 heterojunction possessed the highest rate constant, which was about 17.2 and 3.1 times higher than those of pure BiVO4 and AgVO3, respectively. Such an enhancement was mainly ascribed to the formation of suitable heterojunction structure with intimate interfacial contact between AgVO3 and BiVO4, resulting in the effective separation of photogenerated electron-hole pairs. The possible photocatalytic mechanism was also proposed based on the trapping experiments of active species, indicating that h+ and ·OH played a key role in the photocatalytic degradation process. - Highlights: • A novel AgVO3/BiVO4 heterojunction has been synthesized by a facile method. • The AgVO3/BiVO4 shows enhanced visible-light-driven photocatalytic activity. • The improved separation efficiency of photogenerated carriers is the main reason. • Our findings can offer useful insights for development of efficient photocatalysts.
[en] A further study is made of T/sub c/ of LI2 type superconductors on the basis of the crystal constants of LI2 type compounds given by the author, and yields the predicted values of T/sub c/ of LI2 type La- and Pb-radical superconductors by comparison. It is found that a prudent attitude must be maintained in studying lattice constant a and superconducting critical temperature T/sub c/ of the Al compounds. (author)
[en] Differential elastic 160 degree backscattering cross sections of 0.15-2.00 MeV protons for natural boron have been measured. The lowest proton energy used in the experiment is in the Rutherford backscattering energy region. [en] Direct injection-enhanced annealing of defects in a GaInP top cell for GaInP/GaAs/Ge triple-junction solar cells irradiated with 1.8 MeV electrons with a fluence of 1 × 1015 cm−2 has been observed and analyzed using electroluminescence (EL) spectra. Minority-carrier injection under forward bias conditions is observed to enhance defect annealing in the GaInP top cell, and recovery of the EL intensity of the GaInP top cell was observed even at room temperature. Moreover, the injection-enhanced defect annealing rates obey a simple Arrhenius law; therefore, the annealing activation energy was determined and is equal to 0.51 eV. Lastly, the H2 defect has been identified as the primary non-radiative recombination center based on a comparison of the annealing activation energies
[en] Graphical abstract: In this work, Au (111)-like nanoparticle array was electrodeposited by novel electrochemical protocol. This work provided a feasible approach to prepare Au (111)-like nanoparticle array with a controllable, cost-effective, and without any template or surfactant way. The electrochemical behavior of oxidation of glucose in alkaline media on the as-prepared electrode was discussed. In addition, the as-prepared electrode was served as an enzyme-free glucose sensor to detect the concentration of glucose. - Abstract: In this article, the electrochemical oxidation and the non-enzymatic voltammetric and amperometric detection of glucose using an Au (111)-like nanoparticle-ensemble electrode is described. Moreover, the electrochemical behavior of oxidation of glucose in alkaline media on the as-prepared electrode is discussed. The as-prepared electrode was characterized by field emission scanning electron microscope, cyclic voltammetry. The as-prepared electrode provided excellent electrochemical performance for kinetic-controlled non-enzymatic glucose oxidation reaction with a linear response range from 30 μM to 45 mM, a low detection limit of 10 μM (signal to noise ratio of 3) and a high sensitivity 67.2 μA mM"−"1 cm"−"2 without the interference of 0.15 M chloride, which could be ascribed to the unique ratio of the different crystal planes exposed on the nanocrystal surface. In addition, the amperometric response of the sensor showed a linear relationship up to a glucose concentration of 11 mM with a high sensitivity of 23.0 μA mM"−"1 cm"−"2. The Au (111)-like nanoparticle-ensemble electrode with high sensitivity, good stability and reproducibility as well as excellent biocompatibility made it promising for the development of enzyme-free sensors
[en] YBa2 Cu3 O7-x (YBCO) superconducting thin film, of which zero resistance temperature is more than 85 K, was grown on the support of the ytterbia stable ZrO2 (YSZ) by metallic organic chemical vapour deposition (MOCVD). The support temperature effect on the film structure was studied. The relationship between the film orientation and support temperature and the lowest temperature range formed superconducting phases have been obtained. [en] This paper derived the formulation for the real efficient emission coefficient of secondary electron under the condition that high energy primary electron incident on metal obliquely. It shows that the coefficient is reversely proportional to the cosine of the incident angle. (authors)
