AbstractAbstract
[en] The Curitiba Sedimentary Basin is located in the Central Southern part of the first Paranense plateau, and comprises the municipality of Curitiba (PR) and part of its neighbours. Its shallow sedimentary fulfilment, represented by the Guabirotuba Formation and supposed to be of Plio-Pleistocene age, is distributed over an about 3.00 km2 large area. Detailed investigation on its internal geometry, which was not well known yet, is revealing that its geological evolution is related to Cainozoic tectonic movements. For the purposes of this study, the definition of the results of the integration of surface and subsurface data, which allowed a more precise definition of the morphostructural framework of the basement and of the tectonic evolution of the Curitiba Basin. The performed structural analysis and digital terrain models (DTMs) offer a good degree of certainty of the geometric model of the Curitiba Basin and of the morphostructure of its basement. Surface trend were responsible for isolated and asymmetric depocentres. The Curitiba Basin is a depressed structural region aligned in the NE-SW direction, which is segmented by faults of same strike and by secondary NW-SE striking lineaments. Its structuring was initially controlled by Tertiary tectonic reactivation (distensive tectonics D!) and soon afterwards by a transtensional, NE-SW dextral regime (D). Its last dissection is conditioned by neotectonic process dominated by E-W pure shear compression, controlled by larger continental process. (author)

[en] The interest of present study is concerned to the sedimentogenic characterization of fluvial conglomeratic sandstones that occur close to the top of Piramboia Formation. These deposits are interpreted as braided channel bar facies, deposited on alluvial fans at the border of desertic environment. The sandstones are fine to coarse, with variable percentage of gravel. These are dominantly quart zones and median scale trough cross-bedded. (author)

[en] It is herein presented the occurrence albian palinomorphs in the Castellanos Formation a sedimentary unit of continental origins found in core samples from the SL9-C1 and SL12-SB wells, both drilled in the northern sub-basin of the Santa Lucia basin in southeastern Uruguay. In the spore-polinic association analyzed are described pteriodophytic representants such as Cicatricosisporites, Klukisporites, Appendicisporties, Densoisporites, Cyathidites, Leptolepidites, Taurocosporites, Classopollis; representing the Ephedrales like Equisetosporites, Steevesipollenites, Gnetaceaepollenites and Stellatopollis indicating the presence of angiosperms. Also, a great quantity of Bothryococcus genera, a continental algal, occurs, associated to this microflora. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] A new case of peripheral epithelial odontogenic tumor (Pindborg tumor) is reported. It is localized in the superior right gingival region, a less frequent site, and has the histopathological features previously reported. Immunochemical studies were performed, revealing a differential positive stain to cytokeratins in tumor cells deeply seated in the tumor mass, probably related to tumoral cell heterogeneity.Interestingly, in this particular case S-100 protein positive reactivity was also detected in arborescent cells intermingled with tumoral cells, resembling Langerhans cells. Even though referred in the literature in central Pindborg tumors, no references were found about their presence in peripheral tumors, like the one that is presented here

AbstractAbstract
[en] In the south of the Sierra de San Luis is recognized a basement composed by La Escalerilla and Los Puquios granites, accompanied by schist, mylonite s and mafic-ultramafic rocks. The schists, La Escalerilla granite and the mafic -ultramafic rocks are affected by a regional metamorphism in anphibolites facies, the two first present a N-S foliation di ping to east. The mylonite s correspond to a second event of deformation, distributed in thin belts of NNE-SSO direction and inclination to east, developed in green schist to anphibolites facies. Los Puquios granite represents the more young of the basement rocks and the intrusion was associated with a shear zone. Los Puquios granite forms dikes and small plutons cutting La Escalerilla granite and micas chits in high cortical levels
