AbstractAbstract
[en] Submicroscopic inhomogeneity in single and polycrystalline silicon samples as well as their behavior after X-ray irradiation were investigated by means by ultrasound resonance. The shape and orientation of the inhomogeneity was not changed after X-ray irradiation but their concentration increased. (A.A.D.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The dependence of defect production in perfect and containing various concentrations of point defects, seeds of β and amorphous phase in quartz and berlinite crystals on radiation type was studied. It was shown that during neutron irradiation the processes of impact production of point defects practically doesn't depend on defectness degree of crystal structure. It was shown that in crystals irradiated by protons, deuterons and alpha-particles with under threshold energy together with point defect production by impact and non-impact way the production of the amorphous phase seeds containing E-centers occurred. It was established that in perfect crystals electrons with under threshold energy create intrinsic structure defects by non-impact way. (A.A.D.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] We reclassified a large series of non-Hogkin's lymphoma diagnosed at Korea Cancer Center Hospital from 1991 to 1995, according to REAL classification, and compared the efficacy of immunohistochemical study for cyclin D1 protein and PCR for bcl-1 gene rearrangement to diagnose mantle cell lymphoma (MCL). By REAL classification, 7 %, diffuse large B-cell lymphoma was the most common type (51.8%) and was followed by peripheral T-cell lymphoma-unspecified (10%) and angiocentric lymphoma (7.5%). The most reliable histologic finding was mitosis to make a differential diagnosis. Mitoses of MCL were 17/10 HPF in average and all the cases showed more than 10/10 HPF. Immunophenotypic study alone cannot lead to a differential diagnosis between MCL and SLL, and the overexpression of cyclin D1 was the most important for diagnosis of MCL . Both immunohistochemistry for cyclin D1 and PCR for bcl-1 were specific for MCL and immunohistochemistry was more sensitive than PCR. Statistical analysis showed a different survival rate between MCL and the other low-grade B-cell lymphomas (SLL + MALT + LPL) and a difference between MCL and SLL. Immunohistochemical detection of cyclin D1 has a practical usefulness in making routine diagnosis of MCL. The initial accurate diagnosis of MCL will help clinicians make a proper management. AbstractAbstract
[en] The conventional nondestructive testing has been performed in those area which are susceptible to thermal stress in according to NRC 88-08,11. In addition to that, it is necessary to set up a monitoring system to prevent severe thermal stress to pipes in early stages and to develop the non-intrusive techniques to diagnose the check valve because the thermal stratification has been caused by the malfunction of the check valve in ECCS pipe. Thermal stratification monitoring system has been designed and installed at ECCS line permanently and surge line temporally in YG nuclear power plant. The data is acceptable in according to TASCS guide line. Also, the data originated from ISMS is useful for the arrangement of a special UT program and stress analysis. Applying a togetherness of acoustics and magnetics signal, it is possible to determine the parameters of the function of the check valve internals without disassembling it. This series of tests show that the accelerometers can be use d to measure and to differentiate the three types of impacts; metal to metal impacts mechanical rubs, and worn internal parts. The magnet sensors can be used to detect the opening/closing of stainless check and fluttering of disk. (author). 50 refs., 5 tabs., 28 figs

AbstractAbstract
[en] Inspection and repair of tower structure and lift, instrument calibration have been done. Wireless data transmission to MIPS (Meteorological Information Processing System) has been done after collection in the DAS where environmental assessment can be done by the developed simulation programs in both cases of normal operation and emergency. Wind direction, wind speed, temperature, humidity at 67m, 27m, and 10m height and temperature, humidity, atmospheric pressure, solar radiation, precipitation, and visibility at surface have been measured analyzed with statistical methods. At the site, the prevailing wind directions were SW in spring and summer, NNW in winter season. (author). 6 refs., 9 tabs., 4 figs

AbstractAbstract
[en] Radioisotope facilities were operated to support research, development and production of radioisotopes. Irradiation facilities were operated to offer irradiation service to the clients. Even though intensive periodical checks and some essential maintenance had been carried out the results of RI facility maintenance seemed to be not much satisfactory due mainly to the shortage of skilled manpower and maintenance expenses. High intensity γ irradiator was normally operated 165 times for overall 2,670 hrs, and the low intensity γ irradiator was operated 89 times for overall 367 hrs, respectively. The reactor shutdown report of TRIGA Mark-II and Mark-III were submitted to MOST and the spent fuels from the core were transferred to storage racks in reactor pool for decommissioning which will be started in 1997. AbstractAbstract
[en] The scattering of plane acoustic waves normally incident on a multilayered cylindrical shell has been formulated using the global matrix approach. And a simple way to formulate the non-resonant background component in the field scattered by an empty elastic shell has been found. This is to replace the surface admittance for the shell with the zero-frequency limit of the surface admittance for the analogous fluid shell (i.e., the shear wave speed in the elastic shell is set to zero). It has been shown that the background thus obtained is exact and applicable to shells of arbitrary thickness and material makeup, and over all frequencies and mode numbers. This way has been also applied to obtain the expressions of the backgrounds for multilayered shells. The resonant ultrasound spectroscopy system has been constructed to measure the resonance spectrum of a single fuel rod. The leak-defective fuel rod detection system of a laboratory scale has been also constructed. Particularly, all techniques and processes necessary for manufacturing the ultrasonic probe of thin (1.2 mm) strip type have been developed. (author). 38 refs., 34 figs

AbstractAbstract
[en] A basic characteristics and neutronic code development for accelerator driven subcritical reactor have been performed. In the field of basic characteristic study, the world-wide technical trends for a subcritical reactor has been investigated and some new directions for the subcritical system development were investigated. For the analysis of subcritical reactor core, a Montecarlo depletion code was developed by combining LAHET code with ORIGEN2 code. In addition, one-point kinetics equation for subcritical reactor programmed in order to analyze the dynamic behavior of subcritical core. (author). 26 tabs., 49 figs
