AbstractAbstract
[en] The spatial and temporal distributions of isotope content (deuterium, oxygen-18 and tritium) in precipitation in the Belgrade area are presented. The local meteoric water line (δD=8,2 δ 18O + 9) is in agreement with the world meteoric water line (δD=8 δ 18O + 10). The tritium content in precipitation at the Zeleno Brdo station shows the decreasing trend characteristic for the reference sites at our geographic latitude. Tritium activity is higher by a factor 2-3 from background measured in Zagreb and Vienna. (author)

[en] The Quality Assessment Program (QAP) is designed to test the quality of the environmental measurements being reported to the Department of Energy by its contractors. We participated in this program since September 1997. We had 92 % acceptable results in September 1998. Only one result was acceptable with warning. There were no unacceptable results. (author)

[en] Measurement of angular distribution of neutrons emitted from deuterium plasma focus was done with liquid scintillation detectors (NE343). Neutron fluences were measured at the angles -300, 00, 300 and 900. Results have shown that neutron anisotropy did not found. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Phenotypic changes of monocyte-macrophage lineage cells and extracellular matrix of the thymus were studied in male Wistar rats during the 30 days after whole-body X-ray irradiation (3.5 Gy). They were identified in situ on cryostat thymic sections using streptavidin-biotin immunoperoxidase staining by R-MC and ED series of monoclonal antibodies (MoAbs). It was shown that this dose of X-rays caused significant cyclic changes in the thymus structure, which were not only the consequence of its noxious effects on thymocytes followed by the recovery of the lymphoid compartment, but also the result of direct effects of X- irradiation on macrophages, interdigitating cells and extracellular matrix. Use of membrane separation processes for the separation of radionuclides from liquid and gas streams
AbstractAbstract
[en] Use of membranes for the separation and recovery of radionuclides from contaminated liquid and gas streams has been discussed in this paper. The special attention has been paid to the use of ion-exchange membranes for electrodialysis and Donnan dialysis, as well as the use of facilitated liquid membranes for liquid pertraction. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] An overview of the nuclear research reactors in the world is given from the point of view of the in core fuel management and the back end of the fuel cycle. Options for interim, long term and final storage of research reactor spent fuel are discussed, with special attention paid to the domestic situation. Different technical and organizational aspects of using the existing spent fuel storage, as well as the design and regulatory aspects for a new storage facility, are summarized, in view of the current and future activities in the country. Finally, conclusion important for the safe disposal of the research reactor RA spent fuel are derived. (author). 17 refs, 2 figs, 2 tabs

AbstractAbstract
[en] The paper presents some basic data about the RA research reactor at the VINCA Institute. A short description of the spent fuel storage pool at this reactor is given. a program is proposed of the necessary actions for permanent or long-term solution of safe disposal of the spent nuclear fuel. It is particularly stressed that the proposed actions have to be performed independently of the decision about the future status of the research reactor itself. A description of the work, which has to be done in order improve the safety and radiological characteristics of the spent fuel storage pool at the research reactor, is given. Explanation, purpose and content of the project to improve the spent fuel storage pool at the RA research reactor, are presented in details. Activities on realization of the project, and the results achieved, will be presented in the forthcoming issues of the Nuklearna tehnologija journal. (authors). 17 refs, 9 figs

[en] The specially constructed container for the temporary disposal of Eu-152, 154 sealed radioactive sources is referred in the paper. The container is provided by the lead shielding thus enabling the storage of 1500 sources of total radioactivity of about 8,5 /TBq/. The dimensions and construction are adapted to the present systems for manipulations which already exist in the Institute. (author)
