AbstractAbstract
[en] The activities of the INR concentrate on problems in nuclear technology, especially on problems encountered in the development of sodium-cooled fast reactors. Most of the work is carried out under the roof of projects in cooperation with other institutes or industrial research groups. The studies performed within the fast-breeder project (PSB) relate to reactor physics, design data and safety problems of fast reactors. The environmental impacts of nuclear reactors in case of accidents are investigated by the Institute within the framework of the nuclear safety project (PNS), whereas the problems to be studied for the reprocessing project (PWA) relate to the activity inventary and to instrument development. Another main field of interest is nuclear safeguards, the Institute being concerned with the isotope correlation technique and its application. For the fusion reactor technology project, the research work carried out by the Institute deals with fusion techniques using inertial confinement. (orig./HP)

Das INR bearbeitet Probleme der Kerntechnik vor allem im Zusammenhang mit der Entwicklung von natriumgekuehlten schnellen Reaktoren. Der ueberwiegende Teil der Arbeiten wird zusammen mit anderen Instituten und Industriegruppen im Rahmen von Projekten durchgefuehrt. Fuer das Projekt PSB arbeitet das Institut an reaktorphysikalischen Auslegungs- und Sicherheitsfragen schneller Reaktoren. Fragen, die die Einwirkung von Kernreaktoren in Unfallsituationen auf die Umgebung betreffen, werden im Rahmen des PNS bearbeitet. Am PWA beteiligt sich das Institut mit Beitraegen zum Problem des Aktivitaetsinventars und zur Instrumentenentwicklung. Im Arbeitsschwerpunkt Kernmaterialueberwachung wird die Isotopenkorrelationstechnik auf ihre moegliche Anwendung untersucht. Zur Fusionstechnologie bearbeitet das Institut Probleme der Fusion mit Traegheitseinschluss. (orig./HP)Original Title

[en] From 1976 to 1978 a series of computer performance evaluations and cost/benefit analysis were made at the JAERI Computing Center. In this report are described the procedures and results of analysis of the timesharing system and batch processing system for FACOM 230-75 computers in JAERI. The timesharing system is analyzed with BTM model of J. E. Shemer and D. W. Heying and UT-2D model of R. M. Brown et al., and the batch processing system is analyzed with a cyclic queue model. Following the evaluations many modifications and improvements for the computer systems were made, raising significantly performance of systems. (author)

[en] After some basic remarks on energy supply as an economic and political challenge the German energy policy of the individual sectors is explained and corroborated by corresponding data. The appendix gives a new pre-assessment of the energy supply of the F.R. of Germany until the year 1995. Some additional graphs and tables contribute to a clear survey of this development. The programme contains a new confession on the promotion of nuclear energy and on the continuation of the recent energy policy in the fields of natural gas, coal and petroleum as well as some suggestions on the demand-oriented development of district heat and of renewable energies. Nach einigen grundsaetzlichen Anmerkungen zur Energieversorgung als oekonomischer und politischer Herausforderung wird die Energiepolitik in den einzelnen Bereichen erlaeutert und durch entsprechende Zahlenangaben untermauert. Im Anhang wird eine neuere Vorausschaetzung der Energieversorgung der Bundesrepublik Deutschland bis zum Jahr 1995 wiedergegeben. Einige zusaetzliche Grafiken und Tabellen tragen zur Uebersichtlichkeit bei.
