AbstractAbstract
[en] Samples of n-Si with 2,5 centre dot 103 ohm/cm specific resistance were studied before and after irradiation with 24 GeV protons having the fluence up to 1014 p/cm-2. Temperature dependencies of carrier effective concentrations in oxygen and oxygen-free n-Si samples after different irradiation doses are presented

AbstractAbstract
[en] It has been shown that a thermoluminescence (TL) peak of BeO cannot be fitted with a numerically generated glow peak involving only three trapping parameters, namely trap depth, frequency factor and order of kinetics. The peak can be fitted with a TL peak numerically generated by the exact solutions of the basic differential equations. This enables one to determine the five important intrinsic trapping parameters: trap depth, frequency factor, retrapping probability, recombination probability and the concentration of a disconnected trap, an impossible feat under the kinetics formalism. [en] Experimental results are presented of an investigation of TSEE and TL properties of BeO-TiO2 non-stoichiometric ceramics. Non-stoichiometry was created with thermal treatment under reducing conditions. To describe the processes determining the emission properties of these materials, the results of measurements of the spectral composition of TL, ESR and ceramic electroconductivity were used. [en] The influence of gamma-irradiation on optical and lasing properties of YAG:Er single crystals was studied. For laser rods from YAG:Er crystals which were not thermally annealed, the increase of laser output energy was observed after irradiation. The mechanisms of radiation sensibilization are discussed. [en] It has been shown that a new TL peak at 285oC appears after irradiation of a sapphire crystal by neutrons. The intensity of this peak is linear to neutron fluences up to 1017 cm-2. It is suggested that this TL peak is due to oxygen interstitials. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] α-Al2O3:C is a highly sensitive material for thermoluminescence dosimetry (TLD), but exhibits strong light-induced fading. This light sensitivity can be exploited, however, in optically stimulated luminescence dosimetry (OSLD) when the detector is stimulated with light after exposure to radiation and luminescence is recorded. It is shown that by using pulsed OSL (POSL) with α-Al2O3:C detectors, light output several times higher than the TL output can be achieved. Dependencies of the POSL signal on the dose of irradiation, and the parameters of laser stimulation (wavelength, power, pulse duration) are presented and discussed. The conclusion is made that POSL, using α-Al2O3:C is a very sensitive, fast and flexible technique for use in dosimetry. (author)
