AbstractAbstract
[en] This work is a contribution to the study of properties of hot nuclei formed in heavy ion collisions at intermediate energies. The experiment has been performed with the INDRA multidetector. It is shown that most of the reaction cross section is associated with binary dissipative collisions, accompanied by the production of particles from a region between the two reaction partners. This study is focussed on excitation energy and angular momentum of projectile-like fragment (PLF) in 129Xe + natSn reactions from 25 to 50 MeV per nucleon. Several methods are used to characterize hot nuclei (velocity, charge, mass and excitation energy). All these methods are compared between them and indicate that high energies are deposited in the nuclei during collision (it may exceed the nucleus binding energy). The angular momentum transferred into intrinsic spin to PLF in the peripheral collisions has been deduced from angular distributions and kinetic energies of the emitted light charged particles (atomic number smaller ar equal to 2). Both methods agree qualitatively. The spin values decrease with the violence of the collision. These values correspond to values averaged over the whole deexcitation chain of nuclei. The predictions of transport models reproduce qualitatively the most peripheral collisions and suggest that high spins are transferred to PLF (from 30 to 50 ℎ). Larger angular momentum values are observed at the lowest incident energy. The time hierarchy in the evaporation process and the role of mid-rapidity emission are also discussed. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] A method of calculation of the triple-differential cross section of the 208Pb(6Li, αd)208Pb Coulomb breakup at astrophysically relevant energies E of the relative motion of the breakup fragments, taking into account the three-body (α - d - 208Pb) Coulomb effects and the contributions from the E1- and E2- multipoles, including their interference, has been proposed. The new results for the astrophysical S-factor of the direct radiative capture d(α, γ)6 Li reaction at E ≤ 250 keV have been obtained. It is shown that the experimental triple-differential cross section of the 208Pb(6Li, αd)208Pb Coulomb breakup can also be used to give information about the value of the modulus squared of the nuclear vertex constant for the virtual 6Li → α + d. AbstractAbstract
[en] The elastic scattering cross sections as well as one neutron stripping for 16O ions on 16O has been measured with high accuracy over large angular ranges at incident energies from 250 to 704 MeV. From these data which sample both diffractive and refractive scattering processes, the underlying scattering potentials have been extracted using model-unrestricted analysis methods. The extracted potentials fit very well into the systematics found in light-ion scattering. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Angular momentum transfers have been investigated in the 84Kr+238U system at 35 A.MeV as a function of the thermal part of the excitation energy. Due to the high fissility of the uranium-like nuclei, the angular momentum transfers have been inferred in a very large range of the target-like fragment excitation energy, from less than 10 MeV up to about 600 MeV. AbstractAbstract
[en] The reactions 84Kr+197Au and 84Kr+natU were studied at E/A=150 MeV employing the large-volume neutron multiplicity filter ORION at SATURNE. The observed correlations between the atomic number of projectile-like nuclei and neutron multiplicity indicate large excitation energies in the primary projectile- and target-like fragments. Angular correlations between the fission fragments of the U-like nucleus and the projectile-like fragments show a memory of the reaction plane, however no indications of spin effects are found. AbstractAbstract
[en] The reaction mechanism underlying the 44 MeV/u 40Ar projectile break-up process has been studied on different targets, by measuring the coincidences between light particles or intermediate mass fragments detected in a large angular range, and projectile fragments or light charged particles. While the experimental data relative to projectile-like fragments (PLF) with charge close to the one of the projectile can be interpreted in the framework of a three source analysis, the anomalous light fragment production with Z ≤ 10 rather suggests 'fission' as one of the possible decay mode of the highly excited projectile or PLF. It is also observed that a great amount of the forward detected light charged particles are correlated, and due to the break-up or decay of light excited ions. (author)
