AbstractAbstract
[en] The results of analyses of the airborne gamma radiation and total magnetic field survey flown for the region identified as the San Angelo National Topographic Map NH14-1 are presented. The airborne data gathered are reduced by ground computer facilities to yield profile plots of the basic uranium, thorium, and potassium equivalent gamma radiation intensities, ratios of these intensities, aircraft altitude above the earth's surface, total gamma ray and earth's magnetic field intensity, correlated as a function of geologic units. The distribution of data within each geologic unit, for all surveyed map lines and tie lines, has been calculated and is included. Two sets of profiled data for each line are included, with one set displaying the above-cited data. The second set includes only flight line magnetic field, temperature, pressure, altitude data plus magnetic field data as measured at a base station. A general description of the area, including descriptions of the various geologic units and the corresponding airborne data, is included

AbstractAbstract
[en] A discription of nuclear characteristics and states in terms of intranuclear two- and three-nucleons forces is given. The mathematical apparatus of the semiphenomenological nuclear model (SPNM) developed earlier by the author is laid in the foundation of the discussion. Within the frameworks of the SPNM a solution for the Hamiltonian of internal motion of a nucleus is found. The moments of inertia of 20Ne, 152Sm and 170Er nuclei have been calculated and are compared to those calculated with the help of the Skyrme forces and to the experimental data. A good agreement is stated

AbstractAbstract
[en] On the basis of the relativistic expression for the vertex function with four invariant form factors of electromagnetic current of a 3/2 spin nucleus, the ground state of which is described by the Rarita-Schwinger wave function, an expression for the differential cross section of elastic electron-nucleus scattering is derived. The cross section is manifestly expressed via a combination of charge, quadrupole, magnetic dipole and magnetic octupole nuclear form factors. At tau<<1 (tau=-q2/4m2, q-momentum transfer) the expression transforms into a well-known relationship of the differential cross section multipole expansion

AbstractAbstract
[en] The neutral current deuteron spallation in the ν+d→ν+n+p reaction is analyzed in the impulse approximation, the interaction Hamiltonian accounting for terms propertional to the momentum transfer squared q2. Formulae are derived for calculating the differential cross sections (DCS) and the longitudinal polarization degree (LPD) of the final proton. The relationship for DCS contains terms characterizing neutrino scattering on proton, on neutron and their interference. The nucleon form factors are calculated under an assumption of isotopic invariance and the vector current preservation. As an illustration the proton LPD as functions of q2 at Esub(ν)=1 and 10 GeV calculated with the help of the relationships derived in terms of four gauge models are given

AbstractAbstract
[en] Projected statistics is proposed to select states of specified space parity and number parity from the Fock space. In the framework of the self-consistent mean field method the temperature-dependent (or thermal) HFB (THFB) equation with the constraints of angular momentum as well as particle number can be derived from the variation after projections of space parity and number parity. By considering the behavior of the quasiparticle distribution function in the limit of zero temperature, it is shown that the self-consistently blocked HFB equation follows from the THFB equation in this limit. An improved level density formula which is free from the problem of enhancement at low temperatures is derived. (orig.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] A simple estimate is made of the effect of the Δ resonance on isovector M1 and Gamow-Teller moments in nuclei. The ratio of matrix elements for nucleon-Δ to nucleon-nucleon transitions are based on the quark model. The observed M1 moments and energies of GT giant resonances yield consistent values for the strength of the interactions. (orig.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] The properties of the optical potential for absorption of neutrons at low and intermediate energies are analyzed. The analysis was motivated by an unsufficient knowledge of regularities in behaviour of the phenomenological absorption potential as the function of the mass number and energy, as well as by the corresponding difficulties in a unified description of the experimental data in the mentioned energy range. An account of special properties of coupling between the collective channels of the reaction results in a deduction on a dominating absorption of the neutrons in the channels corresponding to collective excitations of a target nucleus. Results are presented on concrete calculations of the strength functions, ranges of the potential scattering, and total cross sections, that provide with a more satisfactory agreement with the experimental data that the conventional variant of the model. Some qualitative consequences from the present variant are considered. The analysis has shown that accountancy of specificity of the channel coupling scheme in the scattering processes of neutrons by atomic nuclei leads, in general, to different parameters of the potential of the generalized optical model (GOM) in different reaction channels. Consideration of the properties of states of the collective nature in the framework of the vibration model permits to substantiate introduction of the GOM potential with primary absorption in the channels corresponding to single-phonon quadrupole excitation of the spherical nuclei. Application of such a potential corresponds to the greater probability of the process of compound nucleus production through the intermediate stage of the phonon-particle type, which presence leads to the dependence of the fluctuation processes on the dynamic deformation parameters

AbstractAbstract
[en] The normal parity low-lying states of the nuclei sup(6, 7)Li, 14N and sup(15, 16)O are calculated in the basis of the ground and potential harmonics using seven variants of realistic NN interaction. It is found that the binding energies and three differentisospin level spacing depend linearly on the D-wave weight in the deuteron. The investigation results show that non of NN realistic potentials can be considered to be a perfect one. However their combined use permits establishing interesting regularities between physical values. As a result one can predict the D-wave weight in the deuteron Psub(d) approximately equal to (4.5+-0.1)% Psub(D)sup(exp.) approximately equal to (6+-3)%

AbstractAbstract
[en] The backbending in the even-even, N = 96 isotones can be quantitatively accounted for by the rotation-alignment of the spins of neutrons in i 13/2 orbits, as shown by comparing the aligned angular momentum and relative Routhian for the s-bands in these isotones and for the i 13/2 bands in the corresponding isotopes with N = 97. The influence of protons on this backbending situation is shown to be indirect, acting through a change of the nuclear deformation, which yields a change of the moment of inertia of the g.s. band and of the non-rigid character of the rotation. The experimental data on the N = 96 and 97 isotones are in reasonable agreement with cranking model calculations. Possible reasons for the inhibition of backbending in the h 9/2 proton bands in the odd-Z, N = 96 isotones, all related to a change of deformation, are presented. (orig.)
