AbstractAbstract
[en] Violations of the Feynman scaling are calculated for the inclusive processes π+A→π +- X in the projectile pion fragmentation region for the target nucle 1H and 14N in the 5x103-5x109 GeV energy range. The inclusive spectra at high energies are approximated by linear combinations of the nuclear inclusive spectra obtained for accelerator energies. The scaling violation is due to an energy dependence (at high E) of the n-pomeron jet production probabilities for nucleus A, as predicted by the supercritical pomeron theory

AbstractAbstract
[en] Results of inverse beta-decay ν-bare+p → e++n investigation, conducted at the Rovno NPP reactor, are presented. Absolute cross sections and positron spectrum of this reaction are measured at the distance of 18 m from the reactor center for the first time. Relative measurements of cross sections and stectra are also performed at the distances of 18 and 25 m from the reactor center. Positron spectrum from the reverse beta-decay investigated reaction is presented. Limitations on neutrino oscillation parameters are considered. It is stressed, that neigther cross sections and spectra, measured at the distance of 18 m from the reactor center, nor the relative measurements at the distances of 18 and 25 m demonstrate statistically meaningful neutrino oscillation effect manifestation

AbstractAbstract
[en] Possibility of designing transport neutron guides for ultracold neutrons (UCN) with regenerated D2O ice internal surface is investigated. It is shown that when applying D2O ice on the surface of UCN storage vessels, the storage time may be prolonged to several hundreds seconds. The neutron guide transmission under storage conditions is defined by the ratio of UCN diffusion mean time from moderator to the outlet hole to the storage time

AbstractAbstract
[en] The potential of interaction between mean-energy particles and atomic nuclei is determined as a solution of an integral equation relating it to the scattering matrix. Potentials involving the central and spin-orbital or isospin parts are reconstructed on the basis of the scattering matrix of the diffraction model. Approximated expressions for central and spin-orbital potentials in the case of weak refraction are obtained. The effect of nuclear parameters on the shape of central potential of interaction between 156 MeV protons and the 208Pb nuclei is considered. The calculated and phenomenological central and spin-orbital potentials of interaction between 185 MeV protons and the 90Zr, 208Pb nuclei are in good agreement only in the surface region of nuclei. The central and isospin potentials of interaction between the 3He nuclei with 217 MeV energy and the 9Be nuclei are studied

AbstractAbstract
[en] The γ-radiation of 145Eu was studied by means of an anti-Compton spectrometer, the design and operation of which are described. Altogether 91 γ-transitions were observed, 20 of them for the first time. A decay scheme of 145Eu was constructed incorporating 85 γ-transitions. Low-lying excited states in 145Sm were analysed within the quasiparticle-phonon nuclear model as well as within the interacting boson-fermion model. Some systematic features in the positions of low-lying positive parity levels in N=83 nuclei are revealed. (author)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Instrumental activation analysis was used to determine aerosols which are generated in the welding of non-alloyed materials. Aerosols were sampled using the method of total capture in a sampler chamber with a 220 mm dia. Synpor 4 filter of a pore size of 0.85+0.15 μm. Three coated electrodes: E-K 103, E-R 113 and E-B 121 for manual arc welding were selected for the measurement. The aerosol production and the intensity of aerosol production were measured gravimetrically. For instrumental activation analysis the aerosols were weighed into polyethylene irradiation tubes. A complete KRAL-B laboratory was used for the irradiation of samples. The laboratory was developed by the Institute of Physics of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and consists of an NA-3 neutron generator, a rabbit tube for transporting the samples and a control console. The samples were irradiated with 14 MeV fast neutron flux. Gamma spectrometry was used for evaluating the samples after irradiation. Monitored in the aerosol samples were F, Na, Si, K, Mn, Fe and Ba, The aerosol analysis took place in two time cycles: (1) for the determination of F, Na, (Fe, K), Mn, Si and Ba: activation for 60 s and immediate measurement of the gamma spectrum for 60 s, (2) for the determination of Fe and K: activation for 300 s, decay for 1800 s and measurement for 300 to 600 s. The results of gravimetric aerosol measurements and the determination of elements in the aerosols are tabulated. (E.S.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Studies have recently be carried out to develop chemical decontamination techniques which use H2So4-Ce4+ or HNO3-Ce4+ solution as a decontamination agent to dissolve and remove radioactive corrosive substances (cladding) adhered to pipes and equipment in nuclear reactor facilities. For development of such techniques, it is important to obtain information on the deterioration in the decontamination agent, namely, the decrease in Ce4+ concentration, accompanying the decontamination process. In the present report, a study is made to develop a measuring method using a rotating disk electrode (RDE), based on the fact that the standard oxidation reduction potential of Ce4+/Ce3+ is sufficiently noble compared with that of Fe3+/Fe2+ and Cr(VI)/Cr(III). Thus, a system for cyclic voltammetry is proposed which uses a rotating disk electrode made of glassy carbon, and it is shown that the concentration of Ce4+ coexisting with Fe3+ and Cr(VI) in solution of sufuric acid or nitric acid can be measured by this technique. The normal measurement conditions are potential sweep rage from 1.55 to -0.5 V (vs. reference electrode of saturated silver - silver chloride), sweep rate of 50 mV/s and rotation rate of 1,000 rpm. The amount of sample required for measurement is 1 x 10-3 dm3 when the Ce4+ concentration is around 1 x 10-3 M. (Nogami, K.)

AbstractAbstract
[en] Ultraviolet absorption spectra of trialkylsilylalkanethiols R3Si(CH2)/sub n/SH (R = CH3, C2H5; n = 1-3) were obtained. The interpretation of the spectra was based on a quantum chemical calculation using a variant of the CNDO/2 method taking into account the configurational interaction of singly excited singlet states of trimethylsilylalkanethiols. Parameters were found for describing the ground state and the electronic spectra of these compounds, including the valence 3s-, 3p- and the Rydberg 3d, 4s, 4p-orbitals of sulfur in the consideration. The long-wave electronic transition in the UV spectra of trialkylsilylalkanethiols at 4.2 x 106 m-1 is due mainly to the excitation of an electron of a p-orbital of sulfur into the virtual orbitals, including the antiboding orbitals of the Si-C bonds and the 4s-, 4p-orbitals. The subsequent electronic transition in the spectra of the compounds studied is predicted to be intravalent. The specific features of the electronic structure of trialkylsilylalkanethiols are to a certain extent due to the participation of the Rydberg 4s- and 4p-orbitals of sulfur

AbstractAbstract
[en] The potential surface of the OCN--H2O interaction has been calculated by the SCF-MO method in the 4-31 G basis. It has been established that structures with one hydrogen bond formed by the terminal atoms of OCN- are the most stable structures. The energies of the hydrogen bond, as well as the force constants and frequencies of the vibrations corresponding to the stretching of the hydrogen bond, have been calculated for a number of structures. The potential of the OCN--H2O interaction has been represented in an analytical form
