Extraction studies of plutonium and americium by dibutylbutyl phosphonate
- 1. Fuel Chemistry Div., Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic Research, Kalpakkam (India)
Description
Dibutylbutyl phosphonate (DBBP) was synthesised by Michaelis Becker method and characterised. 1.1M DBBP in n-dodecane was used to study the extraction of Pu(IV) as a function of nitric acid concentration and compared with Tributyl Phosphate (TBP). Various concentrations of DBBP were used to study the extraction of Am(III) as a function of nitric acid concentration. (author)
