Laser ion source for compact synchrotron dedicated for cancer therapy
- 1. Kyoto Univ. (Japan). Inst. for Chemical Research
Description
For the purpose of promoting the ion cancer therapy, an injector for a compact synchrotron is under development, utilizing the laser ion source composed of a high power-short pulse laser focused on a solid target, an RF cavity synchronized with the pulse laser to rotate the produced ion beam in a longitudinal phase space and beam cooling system.
