Anomalous magnetoresistance of BiS2-based layered superconductor Eu3Bi2S4F4

  • 1. Tokyo Metropolitan University, Department of Physics, Tokyo (Japan)

Description

We have measured electrical transport and magnetic properties of BiS2-based layered superconductor Eu3Bi2S4F4. It has been found that the field dependence of magnetoresistance (MR) exhibits a bell-shaped structure, which shifts to higher fields with increasing temperature. Observed clear correlation between MR and the Eu-ion magnetization demonstrates that the mobility of doped electrons in BiS2 layers is controlled by Eu magnetic moments via strong magnetic coupling between them. Eu3Bi2S4F4 is the one and only BiS2-based layered material that exhibits such an anomalous MR due to the interlayer magnetic coupling. (author)
