Transport of thorium (IV) and uranium (VI) in supported liquid membranes containing TODGA as the carrier extractant

Description

The transport behaviour of Th4+ and UO22+ was investigated from a feed containing 3.0 M HNO3 into a receiver phase containing 0.1 M HNO3 across a PTFE flatsheet supported liquid membrane (SLM) which contained TODGA (N,N,N'N'-tetraoctyl diglycolamide) as the carrier ligand. Comparisons were made with the transport behaviour of Th4+ with Pu4+ and UO22+ with PuO22+ reported earlier. Influence of metal ion concentration on flux was also investigated. (author)
