A three dimensional model of the proposed Canadian Deep Geologic Repository for used nuclear fuel
Description
Canada plans on burying spent nuclear fuel in a Deep Geologic Repository (DGR). Communities feel more comfortable about having the DGR near their homes when they understand how it works. This paper discusses a three-dimensional model of the proposed DGR and how that can be used to communicate important ideas to people unfamiliar with how spent fuel repositories work. We found that having a physical model made communicating information about Canada's plan for spent fuel easier. (author)
