Sellafield geological investigations for deep radioactive waste repository. Deep Borehole No. 16. Factual Report. App. F2. V. 1: FMI and dipmeter processing

Description

This report covers image and dipmeter processing and analysis of data acquired with a Fullbore Formation MicroImager tool (FMI) in Sellafield BH 16. Data were recorded as Run 1. Image and dipmeter processing was carried out for the entire logged interval. The images cover a rock sequence comprising of the Calder Sandstone Formation. The inclinometry information recorded by the FMI indicates that the borehole deviation ranges between 0.07 degrees and 3.01 degrees to the vertical with an azimuth of 330 degrees NW. Examination of the images shows that both sedimentary and tectonic structures may be distinguished. All processing parameters used on this data set are considered standard for this type of processing and no unusual preprocessing techniques were deemed necessary. (author)
