Automatic translation: To improve the social and psychological state of the population living in areas contaminated with radionuclides, timely, intelligible and reliable information to people on the problems of concern is of great importance. Information about the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster and measures to overcome its consequences, communicated to the population by competent sources, should be aimed at forming a psychological attitude in people to be active and normalize the socio-psychological climate. However, the effect of such information, if it is inadequate to the expectations of the population, including those involved in the liquidation of the consequences of the Chernobyl accident, is often unexpected, or even the opposite of what was expected.
Abstract (Russian)
Для улучшения социально-психологического состояния населения, проживающего на загрязненных радионуклидами территориях, большое значение имеет своевременное, доходчивое и достоверное информирование людей по волнующим их проблемам. Информация о последствиях чернобыльской катастрофы и мерах по преодолению ее последствий, доводимая до населения компетентными источниками, должна быть направлена на формирование у людей психологической установки на активную деятельность и нормализацию социально- психологического климата. Однако эффект такой информации, если она неадекватна ожиданиям населения, в том числе участников ликвидации последствий аварии на ЧАЭС, бывает зачастую неожиданным, а то и обратным ожидаемому.Additional details
