Description

The status of the UVSOR (Ultraviolet Synchrotron Orbital Radiation) facility at the Institute for Molecular Science in 1991 is described. The machine is a 750 MeV storage ring. The present initial current is 200 mA. The lifetime at the current is about 3 hours. More than 400 researchers make experiments using 19 beamlines. The research fields are solid state spectroscopy, photochemistry of molecules, photochemical processes, VUV instrumentation and far infrared spectroscopy. (author). 9 refs., 3 figs., 2 tabs
