Synchrotron radiation sources

The book contains the proceedings of the International Conference on Synchrotron Radiation Sources held at Indore (India) during 3-6 February 1992. This conference was the second in a series which has the objective of providing a forum in Asia and other developing countries for exchange of information on topics related to synchrotron radiation. The book contains invited and contributed papers which are grouped into three categories, namely, machine status, design and technology, and applications. Papers in the machine status category deal with machines or sources such as ASTRID, BEPC, BESSY, ELETTRA, ESRF, HESYRL, HISOR, INDUS-1, INDUS-2, PLS, SRS, Super.ACO and UVSOR. The papers in the design and technology category discuss design aspects of the latest third generation and future synchrotron radiation sources, insertion devices, magnets, vacuum systems, RF cavities, beam lines and other related issues. The papers in applications category cover wide ranging topics such as lithography, crystal growth, EXAFS, XANES, topography, Raman scattering, surface scattering and optical spectroscopy. (M.G.B.)
