Electrochemical synthesis of copper incorporated carbon based metallopolymer for electroreduction of CO2

Description

The extensive increase of CO2 in the atmosphere has demanded a smooth industrial shift towards building a closed loop technology for carbon footprint via carbon conversion strategies. Keeping this in mind, here, we have fabricated an electron rich Cu-metallo-polymer on carbon based electrode via electrochemical synthesis. The effective structure of the hence synthesized polymer favour efficient channeling of electrons. Employing electrochemical synthesis allows to control over several parameters such as deposition rate and thickness of the modifier as well as helped to produce uniformly deposited, durable electrode for the electrocatalytic reduction of CO2 into valuable green chemicals.
