Current situation of the Bulgarian power sector and strategy of its development in the transition to a market economy
Description
Bulgaria's change from a centrally planned economy to a market oriented one has created a completely different approach to energy and electricity planning. This has been more noticeable at the level of the electrical utility which presently is confronted with some privatization initiatives. Because of on-going cooperative efforts with several international organizations, different models are being proposed for planning the expansion of the power system. This paper reviews the most important results of the application of these models to the Bulgarian conditions. (author). 5 figs, 4 tabs
